Abstract

Wealth, as a cultural symbol, derives from people's perceptions of wealth. The concept of wealth influences people's wealth behaviour. On the basis of elucidating the cultural connotation of wealth, the concept of wealth and the evolution trend of Chinese people in ancient times and after the reform and opening up are examined. On the basis of analysing the current problems of the Chinese concept of wealth, the cultural construction of the modern concept of wealth is proposed.
