Abstract

As a frontier technology, virtual reality (hereinafter referred to as VR) comprehensively uses advanced scientific technologies such as artificial intelligence, computer graphics, multimedia technology, computer simulation, and parallel processing. Integrating VR into digital protection of intangible cultural heritage plays an important role in protecting and developing the vitality, modernity and innovation of intangible cultural heritage. Based on the theory of digital protection of intangible cultural heritage and from the perspective of innovative design, this paper further discusses the innovative development of virtual representation of intangible cultural heritage. It includes the research status at home and abroad; the analysis of VR digital technology; the digital protection status of intangible cultural heritage in Dalian; the innovative design and implementation of intangible cultural heritage VR digitization. These provide the basic theoretical and practical basis for the digital intangible cultural heritage projects.
