Abstract

Translation of terms in petroleum engineering requires high accuracy. Different from other scientific terms, the petroleum engineering ones are mostly generated in daily life. To achieve accurate translation, it is necessary to understand the etymology. This paper explores the methods of the translation of petroleum engineering terms by studying their etymology, aiming at guiding translation practice.
