Abstract
This paper discusses the duality of Feng Zhi's heart with the little poem Snake. On the one hand as a positive progress of the intellectuals during the May fourth period, but on the other hand still have decadent, negative thoughts and emotions. How the conscience of society, as a positive progressive intellectual, and the individual, as a negative, even decadent, pessimistic, can be assimilated into one person. This paper explores the true portrayal of the painful soul of Chinese intellectuals during the May Fourth Movement.
